<p>In the rarefied air of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Perez aims to overcome a run of disappointing races and earn at least a podium result in the champions’ second car, while Verstappen, the recently minted three-time world champion, chases another historic triumph at one of his favorite venues.</p>
<p>“This is my biggest race of the season, and I’m excited for my home race,” Perez said. He asked the boisterous crowd to cheer for both him and his teammate, who was jeered after winning the United States Grand Prix in Texas on Sunday.</p>
<p>Perez said, “The support in Austin was insane.”</p>

<p>His support base, who is eager to see him become the first Mexican driver to win his home Grand Prix, has not been shy to express their emotions, as they did in Austin, after the turbulent time in their relationship with Verstappen last year, particularly in Brazil.</p>
