The guy who attempted to abduct Sonya Deville, a WWE star better known as Daria Berenato, was given a 15-year jail term. Philip Thomas, the perpetrator, had broken into Deville's home in August 2020. Deville was also shown on camera closely monitoring the sliding door after her alarm system went off. According to information obtained, Berenato was not the only WWE star at the house with Amanda Saccomanno (Mandy Rose) when the smash-and-grab event occurred. According to a FOX 13 investigation, Thomas allegedly travelled from South Carolina to the Tampa Bay region with Deville in order to kidnap her. According to reports, Thomas used a knife, zip ties, and duct tape to complete the abduction. Later, he was detained and accused of attempted kidnapping and armed burglary. Thomas did enter a guilty plea to all of the counts brought against him, but it did not lessen the severity of the penalty.
On last week's SmackDown, Sonya Deville was recently seen in action. Getting back to in-ring developments. On SmackDown, she faced off against her longtime foe Zelina Vega. Deville, however, had to take the loser's position in the fight. The first night of this year's WWE Draft was a complete disaster for the American professional wrestler. Despite recently demonstrating a strong fighting style, Deville was not selected in any of the four rounds on Night One of the WWE Draft 2023. Deville voiced her disappointment on Twitter after not being selected on the first day of the Draft. “DOES ANYONE RUNNING THIS PLACE HAVE A BRAINNNN CELLLLL THEY ARE CHEATING THEY ARE ALLLL CHEATING,” the 29-year-old said on the micro-blogging site.
Sonya Deville has a history in mixed martial arts (MMA), and she is well-known within the WWE community. Along with Paige and Mandy Rose, she had made her WWE debut on RAW as a member of the Absolution triumvirate. Deville has later transferred to SmackDown. Deville and Rose progressed through the ranks together, and they quickly established themselves as a strong force on SmackDown. However, their team later disbanded, and Deville was able to improve as a result.
