<p>Prior to their Champions League encounter, over a hundred Bayern Munich and Galatasaray fans fought early on Tuesday in one of Istanbul’s biggest bar areas.</p>

<p>Fans were seen on tape throwing chairs and other small missiles down the main boulevard of Istanbul’s well-known Beyoglu neighborhood.</p>
<p>There are several pubs in the tourist-friendly neighborhood that Galatasaray supporters visit. When supporters started attacking one of the retail outlets on the Istanbul side, police intervened.</p>
<p>According to the IHA news agency, the fight included 30 Turkish and 70 German supporters.</p>
<p>An inquiry for comments was not immediately answered by the German embassy in Istanbul.</p>
<p>Bayern is now in first place in Group A and has gone 36 games in the Champions League without a loss.</p>
<p>Second-placed Galatasaray is fresh off a spectacular shock victory against Manchester United in their most recent group-stage encounter.</p>
