Rinku Singh's call-up to India is imminent, according to Harbhajan Singh

After his performances in the current season of the Indian Premier League, young Kolkata Knight Riders left-hander Rinku Singh is expected to get the India cap in the shortest format sooner rather than later, according to former spinner Harbhajan Singh.

The little left-hander has established himself as a finisher with 337 runs at a strike-rate of 151 in 11 games.

He has excelled as his side pursued goals, as shown by the game against Gujarat Titans when he struck fellow statemate Yash Dayal for five straight sixes.

He recently teamed up with Andre Russell to defeat Punjab Kings in another tight encounter.

“Rinku's head is not far from that India cap. He is such an inspiring athlete. He has put in a lot of effort and logged many miles to get to where he is now. He deserves all the praise for having such self-confidence. All young children should take lessons from his adventure, according to Harbhajan, who spoke to Star Sports.

Mohammed Kaif, another ex-Indian player, agreed with Harbhajan.

“That maturity is there in Rinku Singh. He appears to rotate strike as well, and his footwork is excellent. Rinku is skilled at turning his form into effective blows and understands when to change directions. He is also capable of making significant shots.

India has five T20 games against Afghanistan at home, three against Ireland on the road, and one each against the USA and the West Indies slated for July.

Tilak Varma, Jitesh Sharma, and Rinku are all contenders for national selection.
