In an exhilarating Pakistan ODI triumph against New Zealand, Fakhar knocks a tonne and records are broken

In order to lead the hosts Pakistan to an incredible record-breaking seven-wicket win against New Zealand, Fakhar Zaman hammered his third straight ODI century.
The Pakistani opener's undefeated score of 180*, which included 17 boundaries and six huge sixes, helped the Asian team to chase down New Zealand's respectable total of 336/5 with 10 deliveries remaining.
Numerous records were broken during the game, including Fakhar becoming the fourth Pakistani batter to score three straight hundreds in ODIs and becoming the nation's fastest player to reach 3000 ODI runs, according to the ICC.
Pakistan's final score of 337/3 was also their second-best run chase and fourth-highest ODI score for the men's squad.
Mohammad Rizwan (54*), a veteran hitter and the team's skipper, and Mohammad Azam (68) both contributed to the thrilling triumph, but it was the explosive left-hander Fakhar who stole the show as he maintained his destructive form.
As New Zealand posted what appeared to be a very respectable score thanks to a brilliant century from Daryl Mitchell (129) and an equally significant performance from captain Tom Latham (98), Pakistan needed something special from Fakhar in response.
Mitchell's knock included eight boundaries and three sixes, and his total, which surpassed Ricky Ponting's 124* in 1998 as the best by any No. 3 from a visiting nation, was the most by a New Zealand batsman in an ODI in Pakistan.
With Fakhar and Babar at the crease and the score at 200/1, Pakistan seemed to be cruising to victory in their reply. However, the loss of the hosts' captain and the dismissal of Abdullah Shafique (7) soon after gave New Zealand some hope.
However, Rizwan and Fakhar joined him at the crease, and the seasoned pair successfully led the home team to victory, giving Pakistan a 2-0 lead in the five-game ODI series.
